Eph. 5:18-20 Thankful Heart - Devotional Scripture

Last weekend’s challenge was to capture your negative thoughts and Phil. 4:6-8 them.  This weekend’s challenge is to have a grateful heart.  Instead of dwelling on the negative, begin to thank God for all the blessings He has given you. Instead of complaining, start praising.

". . . but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."—Ephesians 5:18-20

Having a grateful heart changes our perspective.  Expressing our thanks helps us remember that God is large and in charge. It reminds us of the bigger picture, that we belong to God and that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3). Our minds should be so filled with thanksgiving that we are constantly singing and making music in our hearts to the Lord.
This weekend, be on the lookout for blessings, making each day a treasure hunt. As the Lord reveals a blessing to you, express your gratitude by thanking and praising Him.
